Reports

Each report can have a number of subscribers - people who are sent the report if it is part of a schedule.

This if someone wants to get a copy of the Daily Totals report for example, they can log in, choose the report from the report list and subscribe to it - from then on, they'll be sent the report as part of the regular rotation.

Structure

Reports are made up of two major components.

The Body

The body of the report is the text that is sent along with it. You can enter the body of your message yourself.

Note that if you plan on sending out the report by SMS, you'll need to be careful - the final message should be smaller than 128 characters to avoid excessive charges.

Variable Substitution

You can add the current values from any of your measurements by adding <%measurement name%> to the body of the text.

For example:

 The Weather Today: <%temperature%>, <%humidity%> with wind blowing <%wind direction%> at <%wind speed%>

If you have measurements named 'Temperature', 'Humidity', 'Wind Direction' and 'Wind Speed', then these values will be substituted in the final message that is sent out. If you scheduled this message for midday, any subscribers will get the current values for the weather station at that time every day.

Attachments

As well as the body, each report may have one or more attachments. These are exports that are automatically generated and attached to your email messages.

Note that attachments can not be sent via SMS.
